From your first trade to the good life

Step 1: Sign up and claim your starting City Coin

Sign-up takes an email, a display name and a password. Then claim your starting City Coin on the account page; it's all the capital you get. City Coin (CC) is the city's only currency: no deposits, no withdrawals, and losing it all costs you nothing real.

Check in daily from the sidebar for a reward; invite friends with your link, and once they verify their email you both get City Coin; verifying your own email pays a bonus too.

Step 2: The market page and trading sessions

The Market page lists every company, the movers and city news. The clock follows US hours: overnight (20:00–04:00), pre-market (04:00–09:30), regular (09:30–16:00) and after-hours (16:00–20:00), all Eastern Time, seven days a week. Liquidity differs by session: the regular session is busiest, while overnight and extended hours have thinner books and wider spreads.

Step 3: Read a stock

Open any company for its stock page. The chart and volume are on the left; the Order book on the right shows resting orders: bid 1 to 5 are what others will pay, ask 1 to 5 what others will sell for. Time & sales lists every recent fill, and News carries what might move the company's valuation.

Add the stocks you follow to your Watchlist; on a phone, it's your home screen.

Step 4: Place your first order

On a stock page, tap Trade to open the ticket. Enter a quantity and price and submit aLimit order: a buy fills against asks at or below your price, a sell against bids at or above it; whatever has no counterparty waits in the book. To fill right away, price at the other side.

After placing an order, Positions & orders on your account page shows its status, your fills and your cost basis. You can cancel any time.

Step 5: Understand your account

The account overview shows equity, today's P&L, available City Coin and position value. Equity = available CC + position value − liabilities. Tap the i beside any figure for an explanation.

Advanced: shorting, margin and lending

• Short: if you expect a fall, borrow shares and sell them, then buy back to return. Shorting needs margin, borrowing costs a rate, and a rising price can force a cover.
• Margin mode: off by default. When on, you can buy beyond your available City Coin with a loan from the city, charged daily at an annual rate; if equity drops below maintenance, positions are sold to repay. In this mode your City Coin really can go to zero, but it's all virtual.
• Securities Lending: lend idle shares to short sellers and earn interest. Join under Securities Lending on your account page; leave any time.

Seasons: compete on discipline, not luck

While a season runs, every account is entered. Ranking isn't about who made the most; it's the consistency score: season return divided by hourly equity volatility. One wild swing won't lift you; steady gains do. The board updates hourly and shows the top 50. Your rank turns into a shareable card with one tap.

Lifestyle: turn results into city life

Under Lifestyle on your account page, City Coin buys cars, homes, offices, yachts, jets and collectibles. Total wealth = trading equity + lifestyle asset value; crossing thresholds raises your wealth level and unlocks better assets. What you buy can be shown on your profile or sold back.

Trader Program

Keep trading, meet the criteria, and you can apply for public verification: a badge, a place in the trader pool and the chance to request allocated virtual capital. Verification grants no trading privileges. See the Trader Program page for details.
