Heard at the bar: a hard fall across town, Composite 1,203.68

Quiet enough in here tonight to hear the ice melt; the Composite lost 2.06%.

There's always a hard-luck story. Tessera Motors dropped 11.60% today, Artsee Marketplace dropped 8.54%, and the regulars chewed on it all afternoon.

Across the city, 9 names up and 28 down.

The story going round the street was this: "Money rotates into defensives as the city's appetite for risk fades". Money in the city is rotating out of high-volatility sectors into defensive assets. Precious metals and Utilities draw inflows, while growth valuations come under pressure. Believe it or not; the numbers are what they are.

Where did the money go? Pear Technologies alone turned over 1.25B CC, out of 11.94B CC for the whole city.

If you're asking who had the best of it today, that's Basinrock Resources, up 8.30% to close at 19.30. Regal Gold Royalties came in behind it, up 8.20%.

To find out what happens next, be here tomorrow at this hour.
